UMTS Verification Engineer - Germany - UMTS Verification Engineer

Description
*Supporting the functional verification of high-feature baseband modem chips and the Embedded Layer 1 firmware for UMTS and future mobile phone technologies
* System integration (firmware & hardware) on virtual prototypes and target hardware
* Supporting the task planning, coordination and tracking of verification-related tasks, acting as sub-project-lead in modem development projects
* Supporting the development and execution of testcases and measurement task ensuring proper modem and system functionality
* Supporting the development and extension of current component verification environments and test systems
* Reproducing, analysing and solving functional problems of the modem under test (focus currently on UMTS)
* Technical support of internal and external customers of the Intel high-feature modem baseband components
* Close cooperation with other development teams in the organization on an international level

Qualifications 
* Education in microelectronics engineering or physics is required
* Work experience of at least 2 years is required
* Experience with UMTS standard, esp. Physical Layer, would be helpful
* Programming skills in C or C++ are mandatory
* Good communication and English skills are mandatory
* Knowledge of MS Office tools is required
* Experience in handling electrical components, lab and measurement equipment etc. would be useful
