Telecom/GIS Transition Manager/Project Manager - 6 months+++ - Bonn (& USA), Germany
Telecom/GIS Transition Manager for a 6 month+ contract in Bonn, Germany with some travel to the USA.

The role:
We are looking for a Telecom/GIS Transition Manager to plan and manage transition activities (data signal processing/traffic) where work and/or people are being transitioned between sites. The Transition Manager will ensure that all objectives and goals are accomplished in accordance within a prescribed timeline. This role is involved with highly complex projects that involve multiple international teams.
The role requires extensive project management experience, broad program management expertise and a clear understanding of the implications of major organizational change initiatives specifically relating to Data Signal Processing/Traffic.
Leads team to develop transition plan, including goals, time frames, and procedures for accomplishing project.
Conducts sessions to assure that all stakeholders in the project have a common understanding of the project, risks and issues
Develops and implements communication plans to address the transition cycle and the initial steady state period.
Produces a gap analysis related to resources and documents risks and contingency plans
Assures all people and non-people resources are in place for steady state operations.
Conducts site visits, business process reviews, and other methods as appropriate.
Creates a risk analysis and contingency plans to address the risks
Assures solution is implemented for steady state
Establishes processes for reporting, meeting and escalation of issues
Develop and implement plan to hand off project to steady state management
Skills Required:
Experience with Global Information Systems/GIS
Experience with Data Signal Processing/Traffic
Experience in transitions between multiple sites
A number of years experience as a technical project manager
Must be comfortable giving direction to virtual teams
Excellent planning, organization, management, communication and documentation skills
Must be comfortable presenting to and dealing with senior management.
Occasional travel to the USA for meetings will be required.
