This position is for a consultant with a minimum of 5 years experience of software development, configuration controlled build environments and experience in software packaging, installation and configuration for the operation and maintenance of large Real Time data processing systems.
Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellites with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations.
The consultant will have significant experience in Unix/Linux operating system environments and have knowledge and experience of the following programming languages, software tools and processes:
Software build environments and tools (eg. make, imake)
Source Code control system, preferably CVS, SubVersion or Rational ClearCase
Change Management
C/C++ programming languages
Java programming language
Basic Unix/Linux System Administration
Fluency in English is essential and a working knowledge of French desirable. This is a freelance contract assignment due to start in July 2012 for a period of 2 years with two extension options of 1 year each.
