Our large and well known client is looking for a WAS Engineer with previous experience of upgrading WAS 4 to WAS 6.
The ideal candidate will have worked for a large corporation configuring and managing large WAS Environments run on UNIX, WAS, iSERIES and AS400 using ITIL principals.
Job Description
- Commissioning, support and continuous monitoring of web applications and process documentation
- Planning, configuration and implementation of new system components and performing tests
- Proposed solutions for the optimization of the design data and the overall performance
- Check the availability and accessibility of the systems
- Implementation of SOX process descriptions and controls
- Interface function to other departments and gradually taking over responsibility of the project.
- University degree (business, computer science) and/or completed IT training
- Very good knowledge of IBM WebSphere Application Environment (6 and 7)
- Unix-like operating systems, good knowledge.
- Additional desirable qualifications in pSeries, iSeries and OS/400
- Ideally experience in a large company in the technical field
- like a sound knowledge of ITIL processes (release, change and configurationmanagement)
- extensive knowledge of MS Office products is beneficial
- good command of German and English
