Manning Global is currently looking for Optical Support Engineer for one of our clients, a leading International Telecommunications Company, for contract position based in the Netherlands.
Candidate need to familiar with SDH/WDM/OTN networks, fluent in English, Dutch is a plus, eligible work in EU.
Responsibility:
· To solve problems/issues and answer questions from client (optical) customers in The Netherlands. Most problems/issues and questions are raised by the customer via the clienti ticket system iCare.It can also happen that problems/issues or questions are raised by phone or by customer meetings. In this case the engineer needs to have a ticket opened
· Equipment/software testing can also be part of the job.
· Work on tickets raised by client customers. Make sure all relevant information is filled in the tickets. Update the tickets and customers regularly. Escalate the tickets to the next level of support on time. Solve tickets within the SLA.
· Work is mainly done remotely from the client office in Amsterdam. For complicated problems/issues it might happen that it needs to be discussed with the customer. This can be at a customer location or the client office.
· All ticket updates need to be in English. Communication with the customers is either in Dutch or English.
· Besides ticket handling also equipment/software tests, software upgrade and optical power optimization can be part of the work.
· In most cases this work will be done from the client office in Amsterdam.
Requirement:
· Knowledge and experience (several years) with SDH, WDM equipment and networks, Network Management systems, OTN, UNIX, Gigabit Ethernet, IP
· Experience with one or more trouble ticket systems, trouble shooting SDH/WDM/OTN networks
· Work experience with one or more equipment vendors, such as: Alcatel, Lucent, Ericsson, Nortel, Ciena, Marconi etc
· Candidates need to be able to be able to speak, read and write fluent English. If the Candidates can also speak Dutch that would be a preference.
