On behalf of our client, a major and fast growing Telecommunications company, Manning Global Group is currently looking for an Operations Engineer(Voice) to join the team ASAP on permanent or contract basis in Germany.
The Operations Engineer works under minimal supervision, also serving as a project implementation engineer, working with equipment from Sonus, Tekelec Cisco, Ciena, Juniper, JDSU, Force10, plus other leading edge Telecom equipment. A 24/7 callout duty would be required after the initial internal training has been completed, on one week per 4 weeks rota.
Main responsibilities:
§ To carry out operations and maintenance of the Telexchange locations. Daily activities performed by the Frankfurt Telexchange Stations.
§ Maintaining the Terrestrial DWDM platforms, Turin DACCS 2000, TA200 Coredirector, Sonus, Tekelec, IP Transit/MPLS routers and DC Power Plants.
§ Processing of new Circuit orders, ensuring the provision of new circuits are completed within the SLA time frame.
§ Ensuring Network Trouble Tickets are reacted and dealt with in a timely manner.
§ Implementation of transmission/ Voice upgrades also on-site new builds.
§ Housekeeping of technical areas – Leased areas, & Colo Rooms.
§ Carrying out the Building and remote site Preventative Maintenance in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
Required qualifications:
§ 2 years of practical or theory in the telecommunications industry.
§ A knowledge of telecom products and services, Sonus, Tekelc.
§ Knowledge of C7 and VOIP
§ Knowledge of test instruments
§ Understanding of business processes.
§ Customer management and interaction.
§ Good English and German language oral and written.
§ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
§ Strong aptitude for learning new technology applications
§ High degree of accuracy and attention to details
§ Ability to complete projects/task to a deadline.
§ Able to work effectively independently and as a member of a team
§ Clean European or Germany class 3 driving license or equivalent.
