Our client is currently / urgently looking for a Web Content Coordinator (m/f) for a project in Darmstadt, Germany.

Task Description:
The web site is the main portal for communication of our client activities and
serves a variety of target audiences; its intranet in turn serves as the main portal for Internal Communication within the organisation.

Accordingly, the consultant will be expected to undertake the following tasks:

- Write, develop and maintain content within the CIS Information Area (IA) of the web
site
- Publish and maintain content within the CIS Information Area (IA) of the intranet
- Act as back-up for other intranet content publishers within CIS
- Manage and Moderate EUMETSAT’s online social media channels
- Maintain site maps of the web site and intranet
- Support web content-specific tasks during key of our client activities (launches,
anniversary, etc.)
- Participate in the development of effective content management procedures and
documentation for web site and intranet.

In the performance of these tasks, the consultant shall apply the relevant client
organisational and programmatic quality management procedures, including the relevant
working practices and procedures with special focus on the corporate branding guidelines.

REPORTING
The consultant will report to the Communications and Outreach Manager and interact with the clients employees. The work will be coordinated via a work package with an annual review required of services delivered vis-a-vis duties required.


Skills:

• A thorough understanding and practical experience of the following:
- Writing for the web
- Web content layout and imagery selection
- Online social media services (such as Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, etc.)
- Content Management Systems (such as Oracle UCM)
- Web content delivery methods and standards

• Thorough knowledge of the following software:
- Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator & Dreamweaver)
- Knowledge of the following products would be considered and advantage:
Adobe Flash, Adobe Premiere Pro, professional sound and video compression tools (e.g. Sony SoundForge, Sorenson Squeeze) and methods.

• The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for this position is English and therefore the consultant must be able to work effectively in this language, especially as far as written skills are concerned and have knowledge of the other.

• Excellent written and interpersonal skills

The consultant will have at least 5 years working experience in web content development and publishing. An additional university degree would be considered an advantage.
The consultant is required to work independently with the minimum of supervision but able to refer to the clients points of contact when necessary. He/she shall be task-driven,
responsive and self-motivated. A largely self-managed person, the consultant shall have excellent communication skills and be used to working towards high standards.


Required Language(s):
The official languages of the client are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore consultant must be able to work effectively in this language and have a knowledge of the other.

Location
Darmstadt (Germany), but travel within Europe may be required for certain activities.

Duration:
The start date foreseen is for 1 March 2012 until 28 February 2013.
Two options to extend the activities for a further period of one year each shall form part of the contract. Kindly indicate the earliest date of availability.
