Infrastructure monitoring specialist/Application monitoring specialist
The role of Specialist for Application Monitoring will be responsible for developing and maintaining application instrumentation to be used by the Enterprise System Management (ESM) tools. These application instrumentations - so called policies or monitors - describe which application/service specific events or performance counters indicate that an application or service is not healthy (reactive monitoring) or even preferable going to be unhealthy (pro-active) in the future. So based on these policies or monitors the Enterprise System Management (ESM) tools will providing reactive and proactive alerts that enable unscheduled disruption to IT services to be quickly identified.
Essential Functions of the Job/Responsibilities
- Lead meetings with development and application operations teams
- Drive the identification of critical event, performance counters and transactions for applications/services
- Development of sophisticated scripts to be used in tool specific monitors/policies
- Identification of Servers where the policies/monitors need to be deployed
Your profile - to help us progress together
- At least 3 years working experience within the Enterprise System Management and/or application management space
- Knowledge in either HP OMi, HP Business Process Monitor (BPM) or HP OM would be required
- Knowledge in HP Real User Monitoring (RUM) and HP Diagnostics would be highly welcome
- Good knowledge of databases (MS SQL/Oracle) and web based technologies (ie Web services, JAVA, .Net) are definitely a plus
- Good working knowledge of Operating Systems (MS Windows, Linux, UNIX)
