Role Purpose
To develop and design solutions for the services integration of all services managed by Global Applications.
To enable the Service Environment to be as expandable, flexible and reliable for existing and upcoming Services and Applications.
To provide technical consultancy, support and guidance for all stakeholders.
Essence of Role -E2E Design responsibility for the Service Environment
Consultancy on the design of the different environments
Assure maximum flexibility for requirements, maximum expandability for extended forecasts and maximum reliability assuring high availability
Provide E2E integration solutions for Services and their environment including E2E connectivity and Interfaces
Optimize resources, Increase Quality & Reduce Costs
Support & Drive E2E performance & service quality improvements during the entire Product Life Cycle (PLC)
Develop and Drive design solutions and innovation in order to increase the service quality while decreasing the costs
Evaluate and Research for new technologies and methods in order to gain synergies and optimize the environment utilization
Plan, evaluate and execute technical feasibility analyses/technology assessments/commercial and technical impact analysis within the domain
Compile Concepts, Standards & Guidelines, Operational Requirements
Accountable for Standardization of technology in Global Applications
Develop and define standards, concepts and guidelines for the relevant Global Applications environments and the Global Applications core business
Support and Guidance for the entire Global Applications Team concerning the Implementation of the Standards, Concepts and Guidelines
Lead Design Work streams with participants from all relevant stakeholders and work out the technical details and to agree and align the topics on technical level.
Ensure the maintenance of the Global Applications Operational Requirements and provide consultancy on assessment, implementation and verification of Operational Requirements
Technical/Professional Expertise
Essential
Strong IT/Application Management background, if possible with university degree in Information Technology.
5 years of experience in IT service provisioning (preference in the telecommunication industry)
Broad experience and knowledge of mobile Internet communication, protocols, infrastructure, applications, services and integrations)
Deep knowledge in state of the art IT solutions for Mobile & Web applications and services.
Enterprise network know how as IP routing, DNS, load balancing and security features
Wide area network basic know how as leased line, MPLS and IPSec technologies
Deep understanding of operational procedures and process standards (eg ITIL)
Fluent English. Ability to work in an international environment and team. Ability to accomplish goals. Strong communication and interpersonal skills - ability to balance conflicting interests. Good planning/decision making skills strong team player skills, looks for win/winDetailed technical knowhow
Well developed technical knowledge across a broad range of IT topics such as
o LAN technology
o Database
o SAN technology
o J2EE application Servers (Weblogic, JBoss, Tomcat) and the Apache Web Server
o Virtualization
o Windows Server OS, UNIX (Solaris), Linux OS including Perl & Shell scripting
o JAVA, SQL, Ethernet, TCP/IP, XML, HTML, XHTML, Ant, Struts, Email Solution, Streaming
Good understanding of the mobile operator 2.5/3G network infrastructure as SGSN and GGSN.
Requirements for voice and video over IP as SIP, QoS, IP Multicasting and RTP
A basic understanding of mobile operator enablers as Web/WAP gateway, SMSC + MMSC and AAA/Diameter servers.
