JBOSS - Unix - TCP/IP - Open SSO - Apache - SQL - Bash - Perl - Java - Nagios - LDAP
Austin Fraser are working with one of their top clients based in Düsseldorf. This is a really exciting opportunity for a Support Engineer.
Your role:
This task includes Deployment and support of many enablers (on-line pricing, SSO, reporting, messaging (SMS, MMS), remote configuration of mobile devices, AAA, SOA bus) for various subsidiaries . These services are provided by the national companies both Embedded (eg through Internet portals - purchase of ringtones, videos, music) as well as externally used (ie on different websites). The activities range from initial installation and integration over the maintenance of automatic monitoring, the daily support, troubleshooting and installation of updates to the decommissioning of individual services and Application Support/Application DBA.
Qualifications:
- Projects as a Support Engineer
- Fluent English
- Experience in 2nd level support
- Knowledge of (performance) tuning
- Experienced in dealing with ticketing systems (good sense of priorities and SLA's)
- Occasional on-call work - (possibly holidays, every 8-10 weeks for 1 week, Mon-Fri, 24)
Skills/Experience:
Experience with Java application Servers (JBOSS specifically)
- UNIX skills - Good understanding of network communications via TCP/IP and the associated analysis tools (eg snoop, tcpdump, ethereal)
- Knowledge of Open SSO
- Experience in administration of the Apache Web server (2.xx)
- Good knowledge of SQL
- Basic knowledge of Scripting languages (Bash, Perl)
- Basic knowledge of Java
- Advantage: Charging/Rating knowledge - an advantage: knowledge of Nagios
- An advantage Knowledge of OpenSSO and LDAP
- Advantage: SOA (Tibco) knowledge
- Advantage: Experience in debugging of Java applications
