JOB DESCRIPTION AND ROLE

My client is looking for Senior Infrastructure Specialist for a role based in Germany

MODULES/SKILL SET/TASK TO BE COMPLETED

Position Summary:

Lead the PLM Platforms Operation & PLM Platforms Projects Architecture within the Infrastructure Domain.
Deep understanding of infrastructure architecture (operating system, storage, networks, databases)
Broad understanding of infrastructure hardware (EUC and Servers)
Excellent verbal and presentation skills - easily able to translate functional to technical requirements and explain these to management
Must be able to work in an outsourced/Matrix environment - highly driven and able to facilitate requirements analysis/review and approve proposals from a technical perspective and drive reliability/performance
Good knowledge of PLM applications architecture and topology
Lead the PLM Platforms Infrastructure Architecture and ensure that the IS infrastructure, its associated hardware, Middleware and software effectively supports the strategic and operational goals as defined by the PLM Program
Drive the consolidation of the existing IS Infrastructure landscape.
Devise the IS infrastructure framework in collaboration with the IS PLM Applications team
Contribute to IS PLM projects, create or review and approve related project documentation and solve issues as appropriate.
Enforce PLM supplier & partners to contribute implementing safe and cost-effective solutions.
Survey operational status and incident reports
Ensure adherence to policies and procedures to comply with the internal control requirements with respect to the IS PLM environment
Driving continuous improvement projects which increase reliability, performance and stability of the IS engineering toolsets
Review Engineering platforms related End User Computing and Servers and Storage service requests and Change Controls
Review Infrastructure Projects relating to Engineering infrastructure.
Define and review standard configurations of Hardware and Software, ensure alignment with the IS strategy
Co-work with the works council
Substantial understanding of IS processes and operational procedures.
Profound technical infrastructure skills across multiple disciplines (Virtualization, Storage, Wintel, Unix, PLM Tools and interfaces) and interconnectivity with network (LAN/WAN, VPN).
