They are targetting local SAP expertise in the Cologne/Bonn area of Germany to encorporate (as freelancers) as they have several long-term projects (up to 3 years) starting in the area. In today's world where companies have finally woken up to the importance of data as a business critical issue, my client has cut a name for itself in this field due to developing bespoke tools, methodology and expertise that has lead to over 200 successful go-lives for large multinational organisations. They look to recruit functional SAP consultants and cross train them on the tools (based on SQL server), thus moulding business facing consultants who not only understand data (analysis, migration, governance), but also the relevant mapping into SAP and the potential challenges of these types of projects. Consultants generally get paid on hourly or daily rates that compete with the 'usual' freelance market, and can expect interesting projects in a multicultural environment. The ideal candidates should have solid end-end hands on configuration knowledge in one or more 'core' SAP modules, and either experience in relational databases or the ability to quickly learn new IT technologies (notably basic SQL).
