Unix Engineer required by blue chip consultancy in Central Germany for 6 months which will extend for 2 years. Engineers must have a strong background within the instillation, configuration and support of Unix systems including AIX, SUSE, Redhat Linux. Any exposure to Solaris would be advantageous but not essential.
Tasks:
- Planning and configuration of Unix Computer Systems
- Instillation of O/S and COTS software
- Testing of instillations
- Implementation and test of backup and recovery schema's
- Providing the client's users with ongoing support
- Documentation of all activities
This role is based in Germany 5 days a week and candidates must be able to work in Germany for the full duration of the contract. English is the 1st language so any other language skills are advantageous.
