Technical Architect
Provide IT technical knowledge and expertise to Group IT competency Centres, Project Managers and teams working on business solutions, and business areas as appropriate. To design elements of the group wide IT architecture to facilitate the deployment of global and distributed business solutions.
Ensuring technical infrastructure designs underpinning business solutions and IT services are capable of meeting performance and functionality targets, and that the operational support is optimal and cost effective.
Provide technical guidance and expertise to business projects and teams building IT business solutions and be single point of contact for architecture and IT infrastructure design within the Group, acting as Technical Design Authority.
Act in the capacity of technical consultant to IT Competency Centres, providing a liaison point within Global Infrastructure development on matters of technical strategy
Work with colleagues building business solutions, providing IT Infrastructure design to develop feasible solution designs and ensures the overall integrity of the solution and successful implementation.
Collaborate with other business and IT functions on the development of appropriate and effective architecture and technology plans for the Group.
Maintain an awareness of current and emerging technologies relevant to the specialist field. Maintain own level of expertise, and actively seek to explore and learn in other technical areas either through external input or through sharing with colleagues
Keep abreast of external market and technology trends and aim to leverage leading edge technologies to gain competitive advantage. Identify, evaluate and promote new technologies that are advantageous to the Group
To continually evaluate business requirements, trends in business solutions and underlying industry direction/best practice and ensure that the company has a clear strategy for each component of the group IT Technical architecture for which responsible.
Support the business change projects and programmes with architecture input
Ensure that assigned project tasks are undertaken to the specification, standard and timescales required.
Generation of technical architecture, methodologies, and standards for assigned components of Group IT infrastructure
