Task:Planning Project Lead (PPL):
Manage all planning (system and network) related tasks in strategic international Mobile Data Serivces projects of our client including project planning and cross-functional sub-project team co-ordination.
As Planning Project Lead (PPL):
- manage all planning (system and network) related tasks in strategic international Mobile Data Serivces projects of our client including project planning and cross-functional sub-project team co-ordination
- report directly for all planning tasks to the overal Technical Project Manager
Additionally, perform technical tasks:
- analyse network requirements coming from new Mobile Data Service Integration projects or from network maintenance demand (end-of-life replacement, design optimisation, etc).
- design a network integration and extensively document it in Product Network Design and System Network Design documents. All documentation is in English!
- align the network design with the system architects, Security, Transport Network Planning, Testing and Operations.
- Work out switch, router, load balancer and firewall configurations
- document configuration in the relevant Configuration Management Database.
- support the evaluation of these configurations in the test facilities (you will have access to a small lab environment, but not to test facility equipment)
- work out migration concepts for the Live Network
- place Change Requests to Operations (no change execution done by yourself, no write-access to any Live Network system) using a Work Order Management tool.
- co-ordinate and troubleshoot the execution of Change Requests.
Requirements (Must have):
- Cisco +++
- Telecommunication +++
- Experience in design, deployment and taking into operations of IP network elements in data centers (VPNs, VLAN, Load Balancer, Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Load-Balancer), especially in existing production environments - required level +++
- Experience as pure IP Network Designer, not Operator - required level +++
- Experience as project manager in complex IP network projects - required level +++
- Experience with Cisco network components on CCNP level - required level +++
- Experience with Checkpoint Firewalls on Crossbeam - required level +
- Languages: German ++
Soft skills required:
- high communication skills, enjoy interaction with people from the various functions of our client in Germany or abroad
- high ability to deal with complex processes and responsibility split
- high self-management ability when working on 5 to 10 projects at a time.
- strong dedication to working as a designer with documents, reviews, meetings, Change Requests, but without write-access to network components.
- strong management ability for building and running a high-performance team of IP network and system planning experts
