- Day to day operations of the enterprise systems which includes the following areas: backups and tape handling, user administration, storage, capacity planning, problem determination, system housekeeping / facilities and server Installation
- Data Center environment monitoring includes the following areas: HVAC, fire suppression, water detection, electrical supply and UPS
- Sarbanes Oxley style controls which includes backups, physical security and operations
- Deliver and provide ideas for technology optimization
- Perform hardware troubleshooting and component replacement
- Design, implementation, documentation and operation of datacenter environments
- Work independently and in an international team environment
- Management and handling of system / environmental faults with third party vendors and contractors
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide afterhours support as needed
- Minimum 5 years of overall IT experience, of which at least 2 years experience of working in a Data Centre environment
- Experience of working for an organization supporting 5000+ users
- Minimum 3 years experience of operating at least one of the following systems: Microsoft Windows Server , Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
- Excellent understanding of HP Blade and Server technologies
- Working knowledge of HVAC, fire suppression and UPS
- Good understanding of DR scenarios
- Knowledge of network design, protocols and security (firewalls etc.)
- Experience with VMware ESX 3.5/4.0
- Current knowledge of the requirements of major applications including SAP
- Experience with ITIL V3 methodologies
- Experience on managing external service providers / contractors
- Full driving licence
- Fluent in English
