Job Description:
The cloud network designer works with the Enterprise Network team to develop the Network Strategy for the cloud platforms. They will be responsible for the overall development and design of a robust, secure and scalable connectivity to and within the cloud. This includes routing, network security devices and network services such as DNS. They will review and oversee application architecture requirements together with their deployment in the cloud environment and ensure that cloud network management and monitoring solutions are in place and fit for purpose.
The Cloud Network Designer is responsible for:
Private virtual network configuration and deployment
Connections through internal networks to allow access to cloud services from partners & public locations
Specification of changes to on-prem infrastructure and related systems (e.g. AD features including the interconnect between On-Prem and Cloud)
Translating security policies to the cloud specific network features that can enforce those policies
Monitoring and managing network performance (Cloud and the On-Prem cloud interconnect)
Identification, specification and deployment of automation opportunities for network changes
Support for Hybrid network architectures
Support for cloud operations, such as appropriate logging and monitoring
All cloud related risks to network operation are registered and managed Capabilities
A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or in a relevant field
More than 3 years work experience designing, executing, and supporting cloud solutions
Certifications covering their selected cloud platform
Exceptional understanding of cloud computing technologies and recent computing trends and familiarity with enterprise architecture and enterprise application integration
Knowledge of network designs and topology's, routing protocols, security systems, LAN/WAN technology's
Knowledge of key security concepts; data integration/EAI technologies;
Ability to work in a cross-functional team, as well as with various stakeholders.
Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively articulate complex cloud concepts
