Location: Remote (but you must be based in Germany)
What you will do:
- As an experienced Ruby on Rails back-end developer you will be working directly on a client-facing product, helping build and maintain the product.
- You will have the opportunity to design, build and maintain robust and scalable software using Ruby on Rails.
Background:
- 5+ years of strong proficiency and working experience using Ruby on Rails
- Fluency in testing frameworks such as RSpec and/or Cucumber
- Experience working with multiple types of SQL and NoSQL datastores including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, and more
- A good understanding of server-side templating languages such as Liquid and Slim
- Experience in working on a medium-to-large monolithic codebase
- Good hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools
- Proficiency in the German language, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a remote and largely asynchronous work environment
Nice to have
- Experience working with a variety of backend and frontend languages such as Go and Node
- Experience with React, GraphQL and Apollo
- Experience with Fastly or VCL
- Experience in Heroku, AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with eCommerce platforms such as Shopify and BigCommerce
- Comfort working in highly agile, iterative software development process
