Beschreibung

Our client is one of the most successful and fast-growing FinTech startup companies in Europe. They are helping people save money, time and stress by offering a digital tax solution.

The Project
They have a back-office / customer support app (only internal users) with lots of functional, non-sexy, but functional control panels. Over time this app got quite complicated and the groups of users grew.
The goal is to make customer support more efficient by redesigning the app and possibly automate parts of their tasks.
One idea could be to offer different interfaces and user journey to different user groups of the app.
While doing the redesign, they also want to clarify the role this product plays in the future and how it shall be built from a product strategy/design strategy pov.
The focus will be on redesigning the existing functionality rather than creating new features (except if they are improving the efficiency of the users.
The new design should not be beautiful, but functional.

Your Tasks
They are in need of a lead product designer starting end of April/May (exact date still tbd) for a period of 6 months or more (min 4 days/week).
The main tasks are:
lead the vision and roadmapping process of the backend and customer support product together with a tech lead.
complete redesign/strategy over all of the above
you own and execute the complete e2e design process.
There would be a PM, who would be more of a facilitator, less hands-on
Speak to internal user to understand their tasks, map them out step by step and test your ideas with them.
There are designers who worked on this for context and insights, but not doing the work.

Requirements
Must-haves:
The project will be executed remotely
You are able to start in April
You are available for a min of 4 days / week
Very good with complex interface design - there are multiple controls for multiple things (imagine an airplane cockpit) - the challenge is to arrange them perfectly
Very good with task analysis - You will have to identity the tasks that need to be done, break them down into steps and then create designs for them. This is quite systematic and not just high-level user journey.
A great understanding of usability
Willingness to get your hands dirty and execute the full end to end design process, while thinking strategically. Get-shit-done and ownership mentality is key.

Nice-to-haves:
The project's language is English. German would be a plus.
Experience in designing complex B2B and/or back-office solutions while optimizing for cost-efficiency.
Experience with customer support tools
Ability to facilitate workshops, great at stakeholder management

Why you should join?
Get impact on thousands people's lives every day
Work in a supportive environment
Work on a great product!
Work in a UX first environment

Approval Process
To make sure that the project is a good fit for both of us the staffer would like to take some time to get to know you over a quick call. The next step would be a meeting with the client for one hour. We would also appreciate it if you could share your portfolio and your previous experience in the domain with us, especially your recent projects and designs.
