The objective of the Operations Test stage is to verify that the correct operational functionality, architecture, tools and procedures have been defined and implemented to allow production support teams to run, monitor, maintain and support systems in production, in both normal and exception conditions.Operations Test will be carried out for all new and modified applications and environments to be implemented for a release and will address the following:
• System and Application Event Management.
• Backup and Recovery Testing.
• Infrastructure Handover Documentation provided to our client groups.
• Application code refresh for new hosts going live.
• System Cleanup (files and non-production user id's removed).
• Environment security
All Operations Test planning and execution will be owned and completed by the ‘Technical Test Team’ of the project Technical Infrastructure.
All Operations Test activities will be carried out in the integrated high volume test environment after the successful completion of the Performance Test stage.
The Team has to create a Test Concept that includes amongst others the following topics:
• Definition of Testscope/Test objects
• Preparation of Test Cases in HPQC (HPQC will also be used for Defect Management)
• Detailed planning of the ORT (Test Plan)
• Definition ofTest Entry and Test Exit criteria
• Reporting of Test progress and Defect situation
