For our client, an IT company, we are looking for a Data Engineer – Azure (f/m/d) on a freelance basis (all genders)Project start: 01.02.2021
Project duration: 30.04.2021 (with the possibility to extend until the end of 2021)
Volume: 3-4 days a week
Location: 100% remote
Project language: English (German is a plus)
A team working with the central Data Science & BI department of a long-term client needs support in the area of Data & Cloud Engineering.
Tasks:
• Develop data models and application designs for data science and BI use cases
• Design and implement data pipelines for data science and BI use cases in Python and/or Scala using Apache Spark and/or SQL
• Support the team of data scientists and engineers in selecting and using Azure services like DevOps, Pipelines, Blob, Data Factory, Container Instances, or ML Studio
• Promote good software/data engineering practices (testing, code review, CI/CD, etc.)
Skills:
• Very comfortable with software development fundamentals: Git, code review, testing
• Experience writing production software in Python, Scala, or Java
• Knowledgable about data modeling, data storage, and data access techniques
• Cloud computing in Azure (e.g., experience with Blob, DevOps, Pipelines, Data Factory, Container Instances, ML Studio)
• Continuous Integration / Delivery, e.g., with Azure Pipelines, Gitlab, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
• Experience with distributed systems, e.g., Apache Spark
• Advanced database experience including authoring SQL queries, designing tables and schemata, and weighing the trade-offs between database technologies
