Location: Munich, Germany
Type of contract: Freelance
Duration: 6 months

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead for an Architecture & IT Transformation Program for one of our Telecom clients in Germany. Location for this position is Munich.

This transformation will use Agile principles as a way to improve our performance and better serve the needs of our client’s end-customers. By moving to Agile, we are creating an even more responsive, customer-centric IT organization, enabling delivery products & services more efficiently to market.

As a Technical Lead:
• You will be required to strengthen the “Agile Way of Working” for your agile team members.
• You will communicate clearly and efficiently as well as influence outcomes
• You support the development and craftsmanship of the Product Owners and Solution Owners within your Tribe or Value Stream.
• You stimulate interactions and alignments between people, Tribes (Value Streams), Squads (scrum teams), Chapters (functional groups), Partners, Suppliers and Business organization.
• You collaborate with various cross-functional teams in an Agile way such as Product Managers/Owners, Business Owners, Solution Owners and Engineering.
• You provide advice and recommendations to the product team for aligning business requirements to base product functionality
• Application Analyst speciality
o Cost estimation for solutions within the software development lifecycle
o Verification of cost and effort estimations
o Creation of the technical part of a SOW (Statement of Work)
o Generation or review of the first high-level application-specific design and determination of the coarse dependencies on other systems.
o Governance of the application analysis, design and architecture
o Bug handling and tracking for End-to-End and production defects (optional)
o Proof of concept for technical topics related to the application and the relevant Service Request
o Definition of requirements for system availability, retention and improvement
o Requirements gathering and refinement of operational and non-functional requirements of the impacted application(s)
o Assess the infrastructure unit size for new or additional infrastructure related demand
o Provide additional infrastructure inputs (eg: inter application communication, access locations, DB types, etc)
o Review and alignment of the provided infrastructure inputs vs target design with Application Architect (or equivalent) and Infrastructure Architect (or equivalent)
• Application Architect Speciality:
o Technical vision and planning, translating business needs into technology strategy for an application or domain
o Drive the adoption of new technologies relevant for the application (e.g. cloud, CI/CD, service virtualization)
o Architectural decisions & guidance for an Application (e.g. Make or Buy)
o Define Application specific target architecture
o Define solution architecture for specific projects / Applications
o Create and maintain architectural documentation
o Verify cost and effort estimations
o Verification of the technical part of a SOW (Statement of Work)
o Technical - / substantive examination of SOW responses, e.g. compliance to the specifications
o Review of the first high-level application-specific design and determination of the core dependencies on other systems.
o Governance of the application design and architecture
o Review test plans, test cases and test results
o Bug handling and tracking for End-to-End and production defects
o Provide technical support and training
o Active analysis to optimize the application(s) infrastructure platform capabilities e.g. for transformation into the cloud
o Proof of concept for technical topics related to the application and the relevant Service Request
o Design cloud adoption plans, design and deployment mechanisms for applications
o Migrate complex, multi-tier applications in cloud environments

What we are looking for / Your Profile:
• Overall around 10-15 years of work experience
• Around 5 years of proven record of accomplishment in a Technical Lead role.
• Bachelors and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
• Knowledge about Telecom domain with deep know-how about CRM systems, Billing systems, Order Management systems, Product Catalog systems and other Telecom BSS Applications. Understanding about Prepaid, Postpaid and Enterprise customers of a Telecom Operator.
• Expertise in driving and steering multidisciplinary teams (BizDevOps and DevOps).
• A personality and the capabilities to optimally function within an Agile environment.
o Scrum Master Certification Level-1 (CSM, PSM-1). Level-2 certification will be beneficial (A-CSM, PSM-2).
o Scrum Product Owner certification will be beneficial.
o Experience in agile practices using Scrum, Kanban.
o Knowledge of Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe, Spotify, LeSS etc.). Any scaled agile certification will be beneficial.
• Excellent level of English. Knowledge of German will be beneficial.
