Semantics Software Engineer required for a key client in Aachen who deliver innovative scientific informatics applications to many of the world’s largest pharmaceutical, Crop Sciences and Life Sciences companies.Responsibilities
Contributing to international software and consulting projects with leading pharmaceutical companies.
Development of IT concepts for implementing and/or integrating semantic technologies and ontologies.
Design and creation of terminologies, taxonomies and ontology models for a variety of applications in the life
sciences and/or chemistry sector.
Development of concepts for the integration of these models in common IT and Big Data platforms and their
implementation.
Ensuring the continuous development of these semantic constructs in close cooperation with our development
teams and customers.
Requirements
Completed master studies in computer science or comparable.
Basic knowledge in designing/creating semantic models using RDF, OWL, SKOS, JSON etc.
Experience with semantic editing toolsProtégé, Top Quadrant, Anzo etc.) • Graph theoretical basics and their application in computer science.
Scientific knowledge is desirable.
Independent working style and a high degree of team and customer orientation.
Very good knowledge of written and spoken English.
