For our costumer, we are seeking for a Senior Research Engineer – Cloud Computing (m/f/d).Duration: 18 Months
Location: Munich, on-site
Key responsibilities:
«» Definition of the software architecture, design, and implementation of the next generation of cloud platforms and services
«» Lead the redesign of the architecture, design, and implementation of emerging cloud memory services in the advent of non-volatile memory and cutting-edge networks
«» Define the overall cloud architecture, from the services down to the platform, and draft the design specifications.
«» Break down the requirements to single layers and identify the key performance targets to ensure the compliance of design and implementation
«» Plan the software technology and IP and collaboration strategy, lead the selection, adoption, and participation of relevant industry standards, and formulate a technology roadmap that forms the basis for a highly competitive product portfolio
«» Clarify the software requirements with the relevant parties, guide the entire prototyping and agile software life cycle, make decisions about the realization of the designed key technical solutions, and participate and provide guidance to the team
Requirements & Qualifications:
§§ BSc/MSc in computer science or other domain-related disciplines
§§ 3+ years of experience with one of the following cloud computing platforms Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google GCP, and OpenStack
§§ Deep technological understanding of cloud cache technologies Amazon ElastiCache, Azure Cache, Alibaba ApsaraDB for Redis, RAMCloud, Redis, Memcached
§§ Deep technological understanding of fast network technologies IB, RoCE and remote-memory technologies RDMA
§§ Deep understanding of non-volatile main memory technologies Intel-Micron 3DXPoint
§§ Deep technological understanding of CAP theory, BASE theory, key-value stores, relational databases, NoSQL databases, graph databases, big data frameworks, distributed machine learning frameworks, and distributed cluster-computing frameworks
§§§ Familiar with local and distributed file systems and its architecture ext3/4, NFS, HDFS
§§§ Familiar with cloud technologies microservices, serverless, and cloud-native
§§§ Familiar with mainstream server CPU architectures and memory/storage technologies
§§§§§ Excellent interpersonal skills, team-work spirit, and cross-domain leadership
§§§§§ Fluent in written and spoken English
§§§§§ Willingness and ability to travel
§§§§§ Must be eligible to work in the European Union
