The ClientThe company is a digital learning platform that helps students learn more efficiently.
The Project
Developing a completely new product which will use some of their old services.
Goal: End of January first release, further release planned already.
Exam preparation platform for university students.
To lead this new product from the technical side they need an interim CTO to start before mid of October until they have hired someone full-time in ca. 6-12 months.
Your Job
Assessment of the current tech assets and stack and it’s suitability for the new project
Planning the technical implementation of the product, together with the team
Defining positions/job descriptions for any new team members needed
Code reviews/ monitoring implementation progress
Hands-on coding on the new project to the extent to which it is efficient
Requirements
Senior (8+ years of experience)
Leadership experience
Project Management
Solution Architect
Infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform)
Be ready to start before mid-October
Knowledge of Golang and/or Scala is a strong plus
Team Setup
You are the only person joining from MVP Factory side for now. From the client-side your team members are:

Since it’s a completely new application, you have some flexibility in choosing the tech stack, if there are good arguments for it. The current tech stack for the backend is mainly Golang and Scala, packaged as microservices.
The frontend team uses: React, Redux PDFTron Prosemirror POEditor, Swift for Native iOS App and Kotlin for Android.
Architecture overview and additional tech stack can be provided over a call with one of MVPFs Domain Experts.
Approval Process
Besides the usual MVPF screening process you would meet the Founder and the Tech Lead over a Video Call before a final decision is made.
