My client is an International Insurance company that is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer for an initial 6 month project.
In this position you will be an integral part of a centralised DevOps capabilities team focused on enabling consistent DevOps capabilities across the engineering organisation. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that will be highly visible on critical business applications.
About the role:
• Creating patterns of automation for CI/CD, infrastructure deployment, maintenance, monitoring, security and compliance using industry and enterprise best practices
• Assisting development teams to apply automation patterns
• Designing, deploying and managing AWS infrastructure
• Designing highly available, fault tolerant systems and putting them to the test with chaos engineering experiments
• Collecting data to give teams complete visibility into application deployments and performance
• Obsessively looking to automate/improve current processes
• Partnering with other enterprise teams on emerging best practices, patterns and technology
• Working with development teams to troubleshoot environment issues
• Experimenting with cutting edge technologies to find new ways of solving problems
Required Skills:
• Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools (i.e. GitLab, automated testing, change management, blue/green, infrastructure as code)
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools or coding/scripting (i.e. Ansible, Terraform, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell)
• Strong background in infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Working knowledge of the AWS stack
• Experience in containerising applications using Docker
• Hands on experience with Kubernetes
• Comfortable with Git and familiar with the Gitflow process
• Background in Linux/Unix Administration
• Experience with Agile methodologies/DevOps environment
• Production support experience
• Experience managing infrastructure and deploying applications in a microservices architecture
• Software development background, experience with at least one scripting language
