I have been tasked to identify 2x DevOPS engineers, specifically to cover the DevOPS (CI/CD, build and deployment automation) type of effort. It is required for the IT Cooperation Program to reach the targets as defined in the IT Cooperation Program and the defined Projects. These are initial 6 month contracts based in either The Hague or Munich.
The consultants will work in close cooperation with the Program Manager, the Project managers, IT Cooperation staff and other BIT staff. The resources procured shall be initially guided by the internal staff, Test & Deployment Automation.
Learning and knowledge transfer are key to bring the projects to successful deliveries.
The seven projects to be covered are as follows:
Technical environments
DevOPS engineers shall be familiar with the selected technical environment based on Java technologies such as Wildfly, Java EE, Spring, Apache, Hibernate, JCR, Mule, MySQL CE and Oracle DB that may transform to other modern technologies based on cloud-native application architectures, event-driven microservice architectures deployed through containers in the service mesh on the Kubernetes platform.
The skills required for the two engineers are:
- Master's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems
- Three or more years of cloud deployments, DevOps and infrastructure engineering
- Senior level experience of managing and administering Linux based systems
- Knowledge of configuring Kubernetes-based infrastructure, networking policies, LBs, deployment strategies and cluster security
- System monitoring experience (Prometheus and Grafana preferred)
- Cloud automation and infrastructure provisioning (Ansible preferred)
- CI/CD pipeline building tools (git, maven, Jenkins)
- Ability to write Dockerfiles, Jenkinsfiles and Helm charts
- Coding with Python and/or Java
