OpenVMS Subject Matter Expert/SME - Contract - Berlin
Square One are looking for an OpenVMS Subject Matter Expert/SME to come on board for an initial 12 month contract in Berlin.
This is an initial 12 month contract, paying market rates.
The role:
* Act as Subject Matter Expert ensuring state-of-the-art architecture for the clients OpenVMS System- and SAN Storage-Environment,
* Continuously optimize the OpenVMS-landscape and -management efficiency,
* Offer advice to your internal customers, support them in the context of 3rd level support in the storage and backup environment and act as the primary contact for the internal domain expert
* Documentation of procedural instructions and training of employees
Required skills and experience:
* bachelor or master's degree in Business IT, IT or other relevant subjects; alternatively a successfully completed apprenticeship paired with extensive work experience
* Expert knowledge in OpenVMS System Management, eg:
* OpenVMS 8.4 or higher
* OpenVMS cluster management including quorum and host based volume shadowing functionality
* Expert knowledge in Itanium Hardware Management, eg:
* Itanium Integrity System management
* Hardware Provider Management
* Expert knowledge Storage and Backup System Management, eg:
* 3PAR SAN and Brocade FC administration
* Storaged-based Snapshot mechanism for OpenVMS
* Dataprotector based backup management for OpenVMS
* Excellent presentation and communication skills with the drive to consistently meet and exceed performance objectives.
* excellent diagnostic skills by consistently resolving complex problems
* languages required: fluent spoken and written German and English skills (both C1), additional languages are a plus (French, Dutch),
This is an initial 12 month contract, paying market rates.
