Profile

Senior Welding Engineer, certified IWE or EWE, with at least 8 years experience of aluminium welding with focus on structural railway applications.

Function

-The function shall assure that the partners competence of our customer, knowledge and experience regarding structural aluminium welding is sufficient to assure that products manufactured by the partner are equal to the ones produced by our customers facility with respect to welding quality.
-The function reports directly to our customers ToT Management/ or the Chief Engineer with close cooperation with related departments and back-up support from our customers organization in China and Europe.

Responsibility

- To support and assist the Chief Engineering team in order to check and proof that all nessesary documents in terms of welding norms and standarts
- During the design phase, regular review the carbody concept to include production experiences as early as possible.
- Share knowledge and competence for aluminium welding in order to transfer best practice from our customer with focus on welding quality related to the design of aluminium carbodies.
- Together with the partner make the strategy and planning for welders¿ training and certification ahead of production start.
- Together with the partner execute the strategy and planning for welders¿ training and certification.
- Supervise activities related to aluminium carbody welding and take actions if needed to assure the quality of training and products.
- Facilitate the partners understanding of specified welding standards according to the carbody design.
- Assist and support the partner with development, explanations and clarifications of welding procedures and certifications.
- On a day to day basis support the partner on issues related to aluminium welding and welding quality assurance
