For our prestigious customer, we are looking for a Big Data Product Owner for a 3 month initial contract (with visibility for over a year) in Germany! For this role we are looking for someone who has exposure to being a Product Owner in a Big Data setting. Coming from a technical background is welcomed with experience in Cloud(Azure/AWS), Python,Kafka,Spark and DevOps needed.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maximizing the value of the big data services offered as part of the Data Platform
- Define and implement the strategy and the vision together with the team
- Gather, validate and prioritize client needs and own and maintain the requirement backlog
- Understand the customer needs, and translate them into meaningful, usable stories;
- Ensures that the team understands the backlog items to the needed level
- Be the gate keeper of our offer, and push back unnecessary request
- Responsible for defining and implementing the roadmap
- Represent the "voice of the customer" within the team
- Collaborate with the customers, other POs and the development team to deliver a solution
- Take responsibility for the platform services operations
Required Skills:
- Master or Bachelor in business informatics, computer science, or similar areas
- Experience as product owner in an Big Data team
- Technical knowledge and general understanding one or more of the following topics:
- Software engineering/Continuous integration, deployment and delivery
- Databases (eg PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Neo4J)
- Distributed systems (eg Spark)
- Event Based systems (eg Kafka)
- Data Science Tooling (eg Jupyter, R-Studio, Zeppelin)
- Linux & Containerization
- Cloud Solutions & Services (eg Azure, AWS)
- Workflow orchestration and automation (eg Luigi)
- Critical thinking generated by observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, and communication.
- Able to demonstrate how customer centric thinking is expressed and reinforced through the digital product design processes
- Experience with common agile working tools (eg Jira, Slack, Confluence, Git)
- Team player open to work in an agile environment
- Fluent English (written and spoken) is a must, other languages (eg German, French, Italian, etc.) are a plus
