Functional safety freelance role- 12 month contract- €110p/h- Hamburg- January startMy client is looking for a functional safety expert to start in January on a 12 Month contract. They need a freelancer to guide their project from the prototype stage to production on a strict timescale. You will be working at the cutting edge of the automotive industry.
- Define the vehicle level safety policy, outlining the scope of work for a specific vehicle programme;
- Define, maintain and monitor the vehicle level safety plan and define the necessary corrective actions;
- Setup and structure the vehicle item definitions according to the programme safety policy, supporting or actively producing the related documentation (requirements specs, analyses, test specs, etc.);
- Lead and facilitate the definition and negotiation of the development interface agreements (DIA) with the suppliers;
- Specify and maintain the vehicle level safety case, providing compelling and defensive arguments;
- Assess the functional safety impact at vehicle level deriving from the change proposals of the specific vehicle programme, provide appropriate and reasonable recommendations;
- Drive, negotiate and setup the Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) support for the specific programme, tracking and monitoring the associated activities and costs, including assessments and audits;
Your profile
- Experience in applying ISO 26262 on automotive systems, including safety analysis (HARA, FMEA, FTA, etc.)
- Awareness of the latest automotive hardware and/or software state-of-the-art solutions and best practices relevant to safety, e.g. E-Gas, lock-step core processor, etc.;
- Understanding of the automotive electrical architectures, including the AUTOSAR standard and software integration paradigms, communication protocols and standards (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.);
- Ability to interpret and apply the ISO 26262 requirements and recommendations, effectively and efficiently tailoring the safety lifecycle specifically for each programme and for each system;
- Ability to produce formal documentation to a highly professional standard using IBM Rational DOORS;
- Demonstrable capability in modern safety analysis techniques such as Fault Trees, Event Trees, FME(C)A, DFMEA, PFMEA and Functional Safety is desirable
