Telecommunication - Data Analytics Software Engineer (m/w) - Ref.Nr. 8864 KD

Tasks & Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for generatign contextually-relevant recommendations to users which really fit their current situation. This involves the design of new methods, their implementation, evaluation and deployment. Our huge user base enables you to work with realistic data and to quickly assess the effictiveness of your approaches.
To this end you will be able to draw data from sources ranging from user behavior on the device up to social networks. You will have the opportunity to work with other experts in this field to create innovative new services, with are scalable to millions of users.
Profile:
- MS in CS, bioinformatics, statistics or similar, PhD a plus
- 4+ years developing software, with 2+ years of experience with data analytics/ machine learning during your sudies, work or spare time
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English
- Demonstrated ability to work with a team to rapidly produce interations
- Driven, self-starter who can multitask in intense environments
- A strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
- Excellent overview of statistical methods and data analytics
- Knowlege of statistical computing tools such as R
- Excellent development skills in Java and at least one other programming language
- Experience with Hadoop and HBase a plus
- Tack-sharp analytical ability - you should be able to dive into mounds of new code an pick it apart
- Excellent design and optimization skills
