Project Description
VET is implementing a corporate wide market data system, which is used in three European locations. The system is an in-house development on the basis of the Oracle product suite (OSB, Java, Oracle 11).
Numerous data sources of historical market parameters are stored in a time series optimized database.
The connectivity between systems is technically implemented on an Oracle Service Bus (formerly Bea Web Logic). Application logic is developed mainly in Java, VBA and Matlab.
Role Description
The candidate is responsible for the design and development of the core time series database of a time series market data system. The candidate contributes with fundamental knowledge and best practice concepts to the design of the system.

Mandatory Skills
• Ability to design and develop a time series market data system and database
• Proven and very strong knowledge of the Oracle database product suite
• Ability to design efficient data models, based on functional requirements
• Proven experience with real time systems and event processing
• Proven experience with market data time series handling and management
• Proven data ware house experience
• Proven programming experience in Java and J2EE technologies in several projects
• Proven experience with Web Service and application server technologies
• Proven experience to work in international teams, multi-location projects and larger teams (15 to 20 people)
• Experienced with XML technologies and data transformations
• Database Administration skills
• Keen to work in challenging environment and under time pressure
Additional Required Skills
• Experience with Oracle ‘Times Ten’ products
• Experienced with standard frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, iBatis
• Experienced with market standard IDEs (e.g. eclipse) and configuration management
• Experience with C++
