DevOps Engineer - AWS - Microservices - CICD - Docker - Kubernetes - Munich
DevOps Engineer required for a Public sector Client. This will be a 8-month contract based in Munich, Key responsibilities:
* The candidate will have an opportunity to work in a DevOps engineering team delivering and enhancing an interesting service in Amazon Web Services.
* Automating, deploying and managing its microservices, their underlying native AWS services and infrastructure, to ensure availability, performance and scalability.
* This role encompasses the enhancement and maintenance of a distributed containerised system through IAC tooling as well as the day-to-day operational support of the production environment. The role would suit an individual from a systems administration (ie GNU/Linux and/or UNIX) background with strong experience with DevOps delivery practices such as immutable infrastructure, container orchestration and Continuous Integration.
* Actively enhancing the supported environments through DevOps ways of working.
* Working alongside other engineers in the industry, providing the code, services and knowledge to deliver a smooth automation process from the start to the end of the project life cycle.
Key Skills:
* Strong knowledge of AWS cloud-native application delivery, operating and debugging complex services in a highly available production environment.
* Strong experience of native AWS services such as CodePipeline & CodeDeploy, S3 & Glacier, SQS, SNS, Lambda, EC2, ElasticSearch, RDS, Route53 and CloudHSM.
* Excellent GNU/Linux (ideally Debian) systems administration, Scripting, networking and security expertise in production environments.
* Strong experience of deploying & maintaining containerised applications.
* Strong experience of deploying, maintaining and administering Docker and Kubernetes via zero downtime deployments.
* Observability, monitoring and alerting with Prometheus and Kibana.
* Sound knowledge of Software Engineering best practices and methodologies.
* Fluency with Git, GitHub, Jira and Confluence.
* GNU/Linux in Amazon Web Services
* Infrastructure as Code, immutable infrastructure and zero-downtime deployments
* Docker & Kubernetes
* HashiCorp (Packer & Terraform)
* Continuous Integration, Git & GitHub
* Service & infrastructure monitoring and alerting
