We are looking for our client for a Business Analyst in the area of Basel:Description:
• Actively work with scientists in a Customer Departement research groups to understand their needs
• Define proper data management solution(s) to meet their scientific needs
• Perform rapid prototyping to refine the requirements with proper documentation
• Work with internal and/or external software teams, whichever appropriate to design proper solutions to meet scientists’ needs
• Implement a scalable and integrated solution to support the scientists’ work either as a team lead or team member
• Work with different IT groups to ensure the solution effectively and efficiently implemented
• Maintain and enhance the solution such that it supports the global research activities
Skills:
• Minimum three years of experience in a scientific or biotech environment, a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems or a related field, and experience in a biomedical research or pharmaceutical environment.
• Advanced degree in biology and/or B.Sc in Computer Science
• At least 3-5 years experience in a scientific or biotech environment, ideally familiar with the biology and pharmacology research in drug discovery
• Solid understanding of relational databases and familiarity with Oracle and/or SQL server
• Knowledge of .NET software development will be a strong plus
• Ideally experience with bioinformatics
• Strong communications and interpersonal skills
• Proven capabilities interacting with scientists and being customer service oriented
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
• Extensive knowledge in biology and especially the pharmacology research process and data
• Good understanding and practical experience in data management and data analysis tools to support research process
The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated team player with a strong understanding of biology, as well as strong experience in software engineering and with proven record of building effective tools for scientists, especially in the area of data management and data analysis
