Senior Project Manager for Data Center infrastructure change (m/f/d) ID: 53611

Duration: 07.10.2019 - 31.12.2019
Volume: 30h per week onsite
Location: Birmingham or Nottingham and occasional travel trip to Düsseldorf (expected low frequency)
Tasks:
Following the decision to split the company into 2 separate and autonomous businesses, the now independent business has developed a series of key IT programmes which in turn will be developed to deliver the more modern hosting environments and support separation.
The “DC Exit” programme covers infrastructure and shared services used and has a further requirement for a part-time SPM position to manage the planning and implementation, move and migration of small portfolio of target systems and infrastructure services into new and more modern hosting environment(s). The final scope of work is to be clarified in the resulting solution designs in line with the Company strategy and planning collaboration with the outsourced IT providers.

Main Activities & Responsibilities
Although primarily delivering the implementation of a specified small projects portfolio for this role will need to align with many inter-dependent and already running projects to achieve mutual objectives and success towards exiting the legacy data centres, and collaborative working across business units and organisations will be vital in this role. Any experience in working with business(es) would be a distinct advantage to prospective applicants. The initial scope for this project includes a small number of ready to go projects for relocation of the existing services such as sFTP, KMS, TMG, domain controllers, and legacy print services. This is an ‘B’ class project and will suit a Senior PM with proven ability and/or knowledge of classic data centre migration project deliveries. The ability to manage stakeholders, business unit engagement, and supplier deliverables to agreed schedules in an aggressive timescale is essential, as is the ability to produce regular tracking artefacts, reports and communications updates appropriate to this project, objectives and status.

Skills:
Key Skill Requirements
• experience in the Energy and Utilities sector
• accredited and strong project management skills with proven experience
• successful experience in managing IT infrastructure migration related projects
• sound understanding of IT data centre infrastructure, connectivity, technologies and services
• highly developed analytical and conceptual skills
• extensive experience of managing service provides (DXC and/or TSI experience preferred), plus third parties, preferably gained in an outsourced IT environment
• demonstrable ‘can do’ experience in delivering projects to target timescaels
• sound experience of risk and change management (and responsiveness to change)
• experience of working within programmes which have a number of inter-dependencies.
• Verification of the 'as is' IT landscape of the identified systems, data and/or services
• Identification of any change or gaps in the current understanding of the 'as is' landscape
• Follow the defined IT strategy, architecture, design and security standards
• Validation of the 'to be' requirements to land the systems and services in new hosting locations
• Ensure the migration plan(s) are in place for the identified infrastructure, systems and services into the new hosting environment with the suppliers
• Ensure the plans reflect the target timescales being achieved
• Ensure suitable controls are put in place to manage the subscribed milestone deliverables
• Engage with the business units and users to develop and communicate plans, highlight any potential area of impact, data move schedules, etc
• Where appropriate engage with the business units and users for any needed user testing, etc (including out-of-hours working) to be able to achieve a successful sign-off
• Manage any change to scope, deliverables and/or budget on behalf of Uniper under standard project processes
• Track and report to project standards
• Trigger de-commissioning of any unused infrastructure identified upon migration
• Successfully complete and closedown the projects to Uniper project standards
• Collaborate with other programmes in order to minimise the impact upon the business users and successfully deliver the wider programme objectives
