- The individual will be directly responsible for the following technologies:
- Server computing hardware, predominantly x86
- Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems 2003 & 2008
- Red Hat Linux
- Server deployment and provisioning
- Server management and monitoring toolsets and applications
- Logical security directly related to servers, services and shares
- Server patch management process
- Architecture, design, configuration, installation and documentation of new systems
- Authoring and maintaining of support documentation
- Extended hours, weekend work and travel is expected
- After hours support – “On-call” and “as called” responsibility is expected
- Minimum of 6 years IT experience in an enterprise environment and 4 years experience deploying, managing and supporting server systems
- Proven ability to work with all levels of management throughout the organisation and develop business partnerships
- Extensive experience working with Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems and related services and or Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Ideally certified in associated Microsoft and HP technologies
- Experience working with virtualization technologies including Microsoft Virtual Server and VMWare
- Experience and good understanding of Microsoft Active Directory
- Experience in backup technologies, solutions and processes
- Experience in disaster recovery planning and execution
- Exposure to ITIL methodologies
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify solutions to root causes
- Knowledge of systems productivity tools and their configuration
- Experience in project management tools and processes
- Fluent in English
