Project Description:The project aims to enlarge for client’s business an existing material master data workflow with steps before the start of the current workflow to support data collection and approval processes before the set up of Material Master Data and similar master data like Purchase Info Record and Bills of Materials are set up in SAP. The workflow is implemented in SAP using a certain workflow engine (not SAP workflow, the workflow engine is not a product of SAP). For the new part of the workflow, a webDynpro user interface is planned. We plan to develop a “Request Form” in webDynpro where the data are collected by various parties. We will discuss to which extend workflow features need to be provided in a webDynpro UI as well. (Currently, the workflow uses a SAPGUI UI.) webDynpro development is done in a EHP8 environment, based on Floor Plan Manager. For Request Forms we developed a template that allows configuration of fields on the Request Form to a certain extend. Additional features will be programmed with wegDynpro directly.
Technical Information:
As part of this new project which is aimed at improving the IDH Creation process and improving the time to market, new modules/work packages must be developed in the Global Master Data System of the client. (Using Webdynpro programming for User Interface and ABAP for Workflows). The main part of the development focusses on Grouping together multiple material type creation/change requests in a single package and trigger integrated and connected workflows.
Responsibilities & Tasks:
The key tasks of the Master Data Process Consultant is delivery of their assigned work package from an End – End perspective. (i.e.: Requirement Gathering -> Solution Design -> Customizing -> Coordination with developer to ensure Build as per requirements -> Training & Documentation -> Testing & deployment).
Organize/Participate in Requirement Gathering sessions with IT/Business counterparts and summarize the requirements in the form of Functional Designs for Config, Build & Testing.
Configure / Customize in the SAP Webdynpro / GUI based on the defined requirements.
Designing Functional specifications for Webdynpro / workflow development objects.
Coordinating with the Business counterpart for aligning Functional Designs and ensuring sign-off/approval from Business.
Coordinating with the developer to ensure that Build is completed on time & quality as per the defined design.
Creating & Conducting End user training sessions with respect to the User Interface.
Functional Testing of the solution and coordination with Business for the UAT.
Planning & reporting of the assigned work packages as defined by Project Management.
