The Security Operations/ Project Support Manager is responsible for efficient and effective management of daily tasks that will be addressed to the IT security function of the company globally. The company is about to undergo a carve out from a traditional German chemical conglomerate with strong internal supplier ties regarding all kind of information services and infrastructure while preparing to become independent from the former owner company and engage with cloud and other kinds of IT service providers.
This person will oversee the full scope of the Security Operations activities for design and operations of
• Data center
• Active Directory and HR
• Network
• Applications
• IT Operations
• Client/workplace
The role is focused on technical hands on and 100 percent tactical and operational. Nevertheless, this person must have excellent English communication skills. The successful candidate will have previous experience in IAM, with DLP, SIEM, SOC, Incident Handling and Security Monitoring are also strongly desired.
Tasks will include
• Undertaking full investigation and responding to SIEM alerts with articulate analysis and clear response guidance to internal teams, documenting the response in a case system
• Acting as focal point for any investigations involving security; to prepare reports and note follow up action. Coordinate prioritization of level 1 – 3 security alert monitoring and triage
• Finding solutions to remediate/ mitigate identified vulnerabilities and gaps; Recommend course of action for containment strategy of active threats
• Identifies security risks and exposures, determines the causes of security violations, designs and implements procedures to prevent and mitigate future incidents
• Consulting of all business units and IT areas with regard to information security queries
• Conducting routine audits to ensure IT security
• Taking over management role for information security projects
• Tracking progress of implementing security measures

Person specification:
• Security professional with proven experience within security sensitive industries
• Sound working knowledge of security best practice and legislation affecting the security role
• Sound IT skills regarding the universe of IT infrastructure, applications, networks, databases, data centers and knowledge of electronic security systems
• Sound judgement and decision making skills, with a ‘hands on’, problem solving approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents
• Sound experience in the use of information security standards e.g. ISO27001, PCI-DSS, BSI Grundschutz etc.
• Real team player that enjoys working with cross-cultural teams
• Strong command of the English language both written and verbal
• Proven experience in conducting well-structured impact analysis in the event of security incidents and identified vulnerabilities
