Q_Perior AG is looking for an experienced MS SQL Developer (m/f/d) for a client from the insurance sector.
We are looking for a responsible IT developer for further developing and documenting the financial planning analysis and reporting requirements based on MS Access and MS SQL Server programming languages. This includes for example
Implement (new) and improve (existing) financial analysis and forecasting analytical methodologies.
Translate business needs into technical/functional specifications and implement those.
Review and analyze existing development for effectiveness of coverage and performance.
Migrate existing MS Access logic into MS SQL Server queries, views and/or stored procedures or adequate solutions.
Implement an existing New Business Planning tool prototype which is available in MS Excel to the current MS Access and MS SQL Server solution.
Implement security concept on MS SQL Server where access should be performed by a technical user rather than individual user ids
Document the implemented solutions and support next steps and high level roadmap going forward (at the end of the project)
Provide operational support for solutions developed during the project phase.
Skills
Must be able to work with business partners to identify process improvement initiatives driving productivity, efficiencies and cost effective solutions. Will also act as technical partner between the clients´ IT and FP&A department to discuss system solutions and/or researches and evaluates other alternative solutions. Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Further design, enhance and maintain existing database applications for processing and reporting financial information and functions.
This requires among other things
• Migrate MS access-based workflow/reporting databases to MS SQL Server
• Develops new and maintains ongoing management and operational reporting
• Performs data analysis, data mining, data quality review, impact analysis, cost benefit
• Participates in all functional and technical design reviews with business, internal IT operations and IT management
• Develops systems testing scripts and supports all phase of testing to include unit, user acceptance and end to end testing
• Develops new and/or modifies technical reference reporting documentation and associated training documents
• Communicate status to leadership/FP&A
Qualifications
• Previous background in business process analysis and change management.
• Excellent developer and computer skills including, but not limited to mastery of the following
MS Access
External data sources (ODBC connections) / formulas / masks / layout / reporting
VBA / Marcos programming
MS Excel
VBA / Macro programming
Microsoft SQL Server
SQL Server Mgmt. Studio
Stored procedures
Data modelling
Performance analysis
Import-Export data linked to MS Access/MS Excel
• Strong experience with data mining from various source systems
• Strong experience utilizing various software packages to perform ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tasks as required
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Access query and form design/development
• Capable of utilizing Microsoft Visual Basic to improve efficiency and automation of developed utilities
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills (in English).
• Demonstrates successful ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Must demonstrate strong multi-tasking skills in heavy workload, fast paced environment.
At least 3-5 years experience
