We are currently looking for an “Network Engineer (m/f)“ for our customer in the energy sector with the following specifications:
Start: 01.03.2019
Duration: 6 months +
Location: Düsseldorf
Tasks:
• Support the incident management process urgent and high impact incidents to ensure swift resolution (as required)
• Review all urgent and high impact incidents and problems with the provider and assess where design changes are needed either via the roadmap or immediately
• Proactive problem management
• Coordination of Service Providers
• Review the design of the client’s network (WAN, (W)LAN, VPN etc.) and propose further measures to simplify it
• Produce a rolling roadmap for all network design changes & refreshes etc
• Include all upgrades, refreshes etc - at a link, switch, router
• Produce and maintain E2E network diagrams and a link and component level.
• Include IP address ranges, firewalls etc
• DC Exit coordination and/or troubleshooting in the frame of the DC Exit program in 2019
• Identification of the network requirements, assessing those, identification of risks and development of measures to mitigate risks
• Analysis of the application migration roadmap (e.g. Cloud environment) to identify bottlenecks
• Assessment of network requirements for migration
• Consult application owners with regards to implementing application migration
• Manage the incident management process for Sev 1 and Sev 2, optimization of the process, orchestrating different providers and development of the solutions
• Evaluate all Sev 1 and Sev 2 Incidents and problem reports and consult the providers (e.g. Tsystems and DXC)
• Improvements to the WIFI design and implementation based on prior analysis
• Review design of Network QoS (Quality of Service) and implementation of the solution
• Design and implement local and regional internet breakouts
• Implement proactive capacity management in the network area
• Implement and execute network end to end monitoring
• Coordination of scope and plan with other project initiatives: Windows 10 rollout, Active Directory migration, O365
• Coordinate various project teams
• Progress reporting towards the program on senior management level
Profile:
• Cisco Certified Architect or Juniper JNCDS-WAN beneficial
• 5+ years’ experience in managing sophisticated computer networks
• 3+ years’ experience in network architecture and deployment
• Extensive experience of the strategic development, design and management / implementation of LAN/WAN/WLAN solutions in a complex, cross border environment.
• Must be hands on and able to lead a technical team in the E2E design of network solutions as well as troubleshooting of issues in the deployed network.
• Experienced design engineer with MPLS, QoS, Routing and Switching with interest in SDN and Hybrid network solutions.
• Extensive knowledge in the design of corporate MPLS networks provided by global carriers including different access networks
