MUST-HAVE SKILLS
The key person(s) shall have:
• Experience of delivering meteorological training for operational staff.
• Skill in the use and application of satellite data for operations, including the core imagery and the Satellite Application Facility (SAF) data used in
forecasting.
• Knowledge of online tools, including Moodle and conferencing systems such as webex.
• Ability to display and manipulate satellite and other meteorological data to produce cases and learning materials.
• Enough knowledge of web technologies to support editing web pages.
• Working knowledge of English (written and spoken)
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
• Knowledge of python (including xarray),
• Jupyter notebooks
• French language is desirable.
TASKS
The key person(s) shall contribute to the users in the application and use client`s data for operational meteorology, especially in nowcasting and short-range forecasting.
The main tasks are:
• Contribute to the course organisation and implementation:
? With local and regional partners, developing the course objectives,
? Identifying potential instructors
? Developing the course agenda
? Implementing the course (online and face to face)
? Evaluating the course
? Supporting logistics and administration as needed.
• Answer user enquiries directed from the helpdesk (by email) – these enquires will be on operational use of data.
• Contribute to the development of case studies for the client`s website.
• Maintain the library of simulators, jupyter notebooks, and other online resources on the training-tools library
