Ihre Aufgaben:
- You work in one of the sub-teams of the "NGSC Application Packaging and Testing" Project. Your sub-team provides the Windows 7 test environment globally.
- The test environment consists of different machines:
- A farm of virtual machines (VMs), using VMware Workstation, which run on workstations in a nearby office and that you need to maintain and support (OS & VMs & hardware)
- VMs of an ESX farm running in global data centers where you need to maintain the VMs
- "normal" non-virtual machines for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) which require regular re-staging of a fresh standard OS image
- You are responsible for the smooth operation of the test environment. You will maintain the environment as required, e.g. provide new snapshots of a new standard Windows 7 OS image, etc. You might need to scale up the test environment according to increased demand and make it ready for production. You might provide expert knowledge of the test environment to other regions that are building up additional test farm, in cooperation with us.
Ihre Qualifikation
- strong sense for quality, following defined processes and policies
- highly self-organized and capable of setting the right priorities
- good knowledge of OS virtualization and experience with VMware products
- capable to detect / troubleshoot technical issues in a VMware environment
- good communication skills with team members and IT organization
- team player in a large and dynamic team structure
- capable of adapting in a dynamic environment
- familiar with the concept of software package distribution
- experienced user of Windows 7 or Windows XP, MS Office, etc.
- languages: Fluent in English required
