Für unseren Kunden aus der Automobilindustrie suchen wir aktuell einen erfahrenen Resident Ingenieur (m/w) für den Einsatz in Köln:

General Objective for Job Title:

  • Ensure efficient information flow between our customer and our customer´s customer engineering.
  • Strong technical consultancy of customer engineering to ensure our customer and our customer´s customer interests are mutually respected.
  • Ensure that our customer and our customer´s customer procedures are respected

    Specific Objective

  • Should speak English and German. French is a plus.
  • Should have worked at the customer's site (Ford)
  • Should know the customer's Engineering System

    General Responsibility for Job Title

    TECHNICAL

  • Act as key technical liaison between our customer and our customer´s customer engineering relating all current and future customer projects with focus on Radar Blind Spot Detection System in order to optimize communication and design processes.
  • Act as key technical liaison to all interfacing activities within customer - styling, body engineering, diagnostics, wiring, multiplexing, manufacturing, service.
  • Act as key technical liaison between our customer P1 and P2 design/development and Customer Electrical Engineering in an effective manner.
  • Provides technical support and assistance to customer engineering.
  • Co-ordination of meetings with our customer at our customer´s Customer.
  • Represents our customer R&D on our customer´s customer technical meetings. (System Meetings, Design Reviews, FMEA, APQP, etc.) and - if necessary - requests our customer technical specialist attendance.
  • Represents our customer on meetings with Tier 1 suppliers and provides technical support to the Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Co-ordination of all activities necessary to manage the integration and application of our customer PAS systems to all Customer vehicle programs within agreed and approved timescales/targets.
  • Ensures all existing required and/or related documentation, specification or testing procedures are forwarded to our customer engineering for review.
  • Develop/review new customer component specifications or testing procedures as appropriate.
  • Coordinates the creation and maintenance of customer component drawings and CAD models of our customers products within the vehicle digital buck and resolves any packaging issues together with the customer packaging engineers.
  • Coordinates SW-releases and if necessary update customer ECU (flash and/or EEPROM).
  • Supports and ensures bench and vehicle testing at the customer to ensure component/system function and - if necessary - requests our customer technical specialist attendance.
  • Compare customer complaints and/or requirements with program specifications. Ensure failure analysis of prototypes.On-site support for design and assembly of sensor products in the pre-production build phases
  • Supports and presents program status to customer/Tier 1 suppliers at launch reviews as required.
  • Support of Customer Change Management Meetings, coordinates all change activities at the customer and supports the change management process regarding changes to our customer products at Customer.
  • Works together with customer and our customer specialists to resolve AIMS (Automated Issues Matrix System), or appropriate system, reported during pre-production phases and co-ordinates release of selected resolutions.
  • Overlaps functions of component engineer and our customer´s Project Manager to effectively utilize our customer and Ford resources to maximize added value to products and design process.
  • Supports our customer documentation center in maintaining customer procedures and specifications
  • optional: Complete CAD analysis of sensor positions.

    COMMERCIAL

  • Maintain a professional and pro-active approach in all customers activities to maintain our customers position as preferred supplier to the customer for Radar systems.
  • Develop and maintain effective and efficient communication with the customer Ford/PAG sales account team and assist them in their endeavour to achieve desired account penetration and strategic objectives.
  • Provide the customer Ford/PAG sales account team with latest program marketing assumptions (volumes, etc.).

    QUALITY

  • Works together with our customer and customer specialists to resolve post job #1 (SOP) production issues via 8D/PDCA process. Supports WERS release of selected resolution.
  • Checks immediate stock situation at plant and advises customer on appropriate containment actions in co-ordination with plan quality.Ensures customer design releases and collates/reviews PPAP/Initial Sample Report submissions packages with customer.

    TECHNICAL

  • Develops and proposes initial design solutions to customer and customer staff for Customer approved vehicle programs.
  • Prioritizes and assigns key program tasks to customers Engineering in conjunction with the relevant Customer Project Manager and Customer Department Manager.
  • Performs the initial analysis of customer requirements and assesses implications with respect to customer PAS systems and technologies for Customer approved programs.
  • Co-ordinates and establishes performance parameters, key targets (cost, weight) and delivery schedule requirements for prototype and production product on all Customer approved programs.
  • Develops and maintains the Customer Design Verification Plan (DVP) for the component or sub-system including vehicle tests. Provides input on to eFDVS (Ford Design Verification System) or appropriate system as required at program gateways.
  • Develops and releases new Customer component specifications or testing procedures as appropriate.
  • Co-ordinates the WERS (Worldwide Engineering Releasing System) or appropriate system for production releasing of all customers VSDC components at Customer for appropriate build phases including acquiring of all requested piece and tooling cost, timing and CAD release packages within agreed timescale.
  • Maintains APQP summary reporting for the requested customer programs.
  • Assists the Project Manager and PAS Department Manager and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Participates in project teams as temporary member

    COMMERCIAL

  • Assists the customer Ford/PAG sales account team in communicating costs to customer.
  • Assists the Customer PMST leader in the completion and sign-off of the program component/system target agreement.
  • Co-ordinates and supports customer meetings at customer and key Tier 1 suppliers

    QUALITY

  • Provides initial failure symptoms to customers plant quality for Radar systems at customer plants.
  • Collects and returns failed samples to customer plant quality for inspection
