For our client a trusted leader in market research present in over 100 countries, we are looking for the area Nuremberg for a Head of Group Accounting (m/f) IFRS.
Project Target:
Our client need backstaffing for the head of Group Accounting during the year-end closing 2017 from beginning of December 2017 until end of closing work mid of March. The current head of Group Accounting should be freed up to participate in other projects, but will be present during the year-end group closing and needs to be informed. The group consists of 130 consolidated companies (partly lacking the necessary skills and / or discipline) who shall deliver audited IFRS reporting packages to Group Accounting, These need to be reviewed, the Intercompany reconciliation is always a big issue, there are always dozens of special problems which need to be solved, there are different complex consolidation issues.
Aufgaben:
- The current closing work is done by an experienced department of 12 heads, but the head of Group Accounting is there to solve problems, decide on handling of special cases, discuss possible solutions, asking questions about strange developments in the figures, doing analyses etc., so it's not just organizing and leading the "project" year-end group closing, but also being the last instance for technical issues (Fachfragen), from subsidiaries or Group Accounting staff / other central departments, and the final editor of the notes disclosures. This does not apply to tax questions, a separate global tax department is handling those. The consolidation software is SAP Financial Consolidation (formerly Cartesis)
- IFRS year-end consolidated client group financial statements including notes along with analyses in a high quality and signed off by the auditors (KPMG)
- Find solutions for all questions which come up during the preparation, help the Group Accounting department do their job, steer the year-end closing time-wise, escalate problems where necessary (e.g. if subsidiaries do not submit their figures in time)
Skills:
- Deep practical consolidation and IFRS knowledge (not just as an auditor!)
- Experience in this role as the responsible person for Group financial closings
- Deep practical IFRS and consolidation knowledge
- SAP Financial Consolidation experience would be helpful, but not mandatory
- Fluent English
- Social competence
- Hands-on mentality
