On behalf of our client, an automotive company, we are searching for a freelance senior controller (m/f) for a long term project (12MM++) with a strong possibility for a takeover in permanent empoyment.Start: asap
Duration: 12 months
Location: Ostwestfalen (Germany)
Key Responsibilities:
Participates directly in organizational changes, by identifying issues or problem areas in the operation, developing cross-functional work teams, creating solutions and adopting financial processes
Assist in the preparation and evaluation of the 5 year strategic plan, annual budget and quarterly forecast, identifying risks and opportunities
Preparation and analysis of monthly customer and product profitability reports, providing recommendations for improvement. Responsible for profit centre (PC) accounting in SAP.
Works closely with the Product Manager to analyze variances to standard cost and drive improvements.
Yearly preparation of department cost centre budgets and preparation and analysis of monthly plan / actual reports comparisons. Provides advice to the department managers on how to reduce their costs.
Product costing, including the maintenance of the costing relevant data in the estimating system, calculation of labor and overhead rates, carrying out regular product costing updates in SAP.
Preparations for external price audits by government contract partners, including accompanying them during the audit, checking contracts and negotiations as to the final audit results.
Inventory Valuation: ensures that inventory valuations are in line with external financial reporting standards, including accruals for O & E. Supports the logistics department in the analysis of inventory, helping to drive reductions.
Supports the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to the corporate accounting department based on US-GAAP.
Supports the annual statutory financial reporting based on HGB
Assists the Financial Manager in the annual preparation of the strategic plan and Budget of sales. Profit and Cashflow, taking account of German HGB and US-GAAP.
Continuous monitoring and updating of the documentation of the business processes in RCTS for this area in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX)
Supports during audits by external financial auditors
Participates in CI projects in various aspects of the business (e.g. inventory reduction, SAP process improvements, etc.), both alone and in teams
Key User for the SAP CO module with additional responsibility for maintaining finance relevant master data
Develops and maintenances a Key Business Indicators report to the focus the management team on those areas that drive our results
Requirements:
5 years of experience in a manufacturing background
Ability to work independently on complex problems, financial or other
Experience working with SOX requirements
Ability to negotiate with, convince and persuade senior management
Fluent in both English and German, both writing and verbally
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage several projects at once
Strong computer skills including excellent MS Excel and SAP FI/CO skills
Educated to degree level (with specialization in finance / cost controlling) and further qualified as IHK Controller
Experience of Oracle Financial Management (formerly Hyperion) desirable
