- Testing ALMA software applications according to project standards.
- Interacting with developers & science users to collect and understand user requirements.
- Produce Test Cases, Plans and Reports.
- Analysing test results and investigating root causes with developers.
- Maintaining existing automation test suites.
- Defining and maintaining effective test environments.

Essential skills:
- A minimum of three years professional experience in testing Java Desktop GUIs under Linux and/or Mac OS.
- Proven experience in testing dynamic web applications including Javascript centric single page applications.
- Sufficient programming experience in Java, especially writing and improving comprehensive test cases.
- Proven experience with relational databases and designing SQL queries
- Proven experience in testing tools like Selenium and/or QF-Test
- Good knowledge of test automation
- Good knowledge of Scripting languages, preferably Groovy or Python
- Exposure to version control tools, preferably Git
Desired skills:
- Knowledge of Unit test frameworks like Junit or TestNG
- Knowledge of software testing techniques (equivalence partition, combinatorial, pair-wise, boundary conditions, etc.)
- Knowledge of Javascript
- Familiar with continuous integration tool, Jenkins and release management/installation
- Knowledge of administering Linux
The work will start in January 2018 for a MINIMUM of 3 years (possibly 5 years) duration. The working location is Munich, Germany. The working language is English.
