Role description
Our client needs to be compliant with the new revenue recognition standard (IFRS15) by 1st April 2018. S15 is a global program to design and implement new IT systems that will enable our client to meet this target. S15 programme will deliver a centralised “accounting engine” and associated processes and controls. Solution roll out is planned in 3 Waves across impacted Local Markets between June 2017 and Feb 2018. Each Local Market will also have its own IFRS 15 initiative aimed at delivering data to this central solution.
Solution and supporting process and controls will be subject to a formal audit by PwC during FY2019, however PwC is currently in the process of conducting advance audit procedures to ensure issues are identified and resolved early before 1st April 2018.
The role of the Advance Audit Lead will sit within S15 Central Finance Team and will involve planning, coordination and execution of the advance audit procedures by PwC across the S15 programme.
Responsibilities:
Overall project management activities and weekly progress reporting to client's management:
Planning together with PwC the scope of advance audit activities and split between central and local market solutions
Drafting and issuing instructions/communications to client's Local Markets
Coordination of PwC Advance Audit procedure across S15 Central Team and monitoring of progress of PwC Local Market activities, including milestones for delivery of procedures at Central Team and Local Market level
Coordinating of PwC Advance Audit procedures across impacted client's Local Markets and regular monitoring of progress, including milestones for delivery of procedures at Local Market level.
Act as the “Go to” person within the S15 Programme for PwC, S15 Central team and client Local Markets for all Advance Audit Related Queries
Support client Local markets in agreeing budgets for advance audit procedures, including review, benchmarking and commenting on budgets prepared by PwC.
Liaise with client's Group Reporting on approving the budgets for Local Markets
Pro-actively identify issues and propose actions and facilitate resolution by engaging the right resources.
Skill:
Previous financial statement and IT audit experience or interaction with external auditors
Strong PM skills and experience in managing large scale cross functional projects
Strong communication/presentation skills and ability to communicate in a clear concise way senior stakeholders in the organisation
Ability to proactively identify issues and propose appropriate resolution
Finance (accounting) background is preferred
Knowledge of Telecoms industry is a plus
