Development Engineer (m/f)

Your tasks:
- Realize an electro-optical measurement set-up, especially improve the capability to accurately measure on the ns time scale and shorter
- The task includes to build an automated set-up to be operated regularly by the team
- Realize a set-up for automated life-testing of lasers under short pulse operation
- Characterize, understand and model the interaction of a (packaged) laser with a short pulse driver
- Effects on the light output by package, wiring, type of driver and current shape should be investigated and guidelines for product design shall be derived
- A 3D imaging system should be put into operation incl. installation of all required periphery and software
- Goal is the measurement of 3D depth maps using our lasers and demonstrating their performance
- In cooperation with the provider of the sensor/imager a reference design should be worked out
Your qualifications
- Experience with measurements on nanosecond level, desirable electro-optical measurements
- Experience with high frequency electronics, desirable electronic drivers especially for operation in ns-pulses
- Experience to handle and operate laser diodes or LEDs
- Experience in lab automatization (e.g. LabVIEW) and data analysis
- Communication with electronics experts at supplier and customer companies
- Electrical modelling and evaluation of equivalent circuits (p-Spice)
- Desirable: thermal modelling of semiconductor components
- Desirable: experience with packaging of opto-electronic components like lasers
- Desirable: experience with imaging systems especially 3D imaging systems
