Our client, a cable operator, is currently looking for a Service Transition Specialist Backoffice (SeaChange base) Design & Configuration (f/m). The ideal candidate will have...o Proficiency in Video & Media including: IP, QAM, Video Distribution, DVB Standards - SI, Mpeg-PSI, Video -Encoding, compression, and Delivery Applications, OTT
o General IT Experience, Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server Architecture/Workstation Platform, Linux-CentOS, Ubuntu, VM Ware/ HyperV Virtualization, Database: MYSQL, MS SQL, Apache SQL, HTML, XML, Python, Power Shell scripting, Perl, IP Networking and Network Architecture understanding
o Experience with packaging encryption and digital rights management technologies, including understanding of video file formats
o Knowledge of the digital media ecosystem and live and on-demand video workflow including signal acquisition, encoding, publishing, ad serving, online video platform services, content delivery, subscriber management and client side applications
Skills and qualifications:
o MSc degree level in a relevant area (network-, communications- or consumer electronics engineering)
o Fluent spoken and written English
o German language skills not mandatory, but advantageous
o Serveral years of experience in the cable, satellite or telco industry
o Several years of experience in service platform implementation of B2C video services
o Several years of experience and knowledge of CATV technologies, DTV and VOD/ReplayTV, Middleware platforms and Video Delivery technologies
o Several years of experience in product and services related software
o Experience with working in an international and distributed team environment
o An understanding of Entertainment B2C services regarding:
- commercial & content side
- product development process
- deep understanding of entertainment technology & ecosystem from back-office & service platforms, and Apps (IOS, Android, HTML5)
- broad understanding of IP and broadcast networking as well as data center infrastructure
o Know-how of entertainment related costs and economics and able to support unit economic analysis
o A strong overall understanding of the technologies and platforms specific to a large cable and telecommunications operator
o Technical knowledge and implementation experience regarding Video CAS, DRM, Video back-ends, workflows, CMS, security services, Search & Recommendations, Application Services, CDN, Ad Insertion, broadband data, home networking, TV, VoD, cDVR
o Good overall knowledge of / familiarity with telecommunications technologies, including: Ethernet, broadcast, as well as „Most Current IP Communication Protocols"
o Good knowledge of / familiarity with Audio and Video coding/decoding technologies
o Good knowledge of / familiarity with related IT systems (OSS & BSS)
Conditions:
Start: 1st May
Duration: 8 months
Mode: Full-time, on-site (possibly 4+1)
Daily rate: 900€
